We’re on a mission to build a more sustainable food system. Starting out, we create tools for restaurants and suppliers that make the ordering process better - saving time, energy, and food.
Each year 1.3 gigatons of edible food is wasted, this is the equivalent of releasing 3.3 gigatons of CO2. We think this is wrong.
Choco started with the search for big problems. We want to solve something meaningful to the planet. Global warming, pollution, population growth, food waste, malnutrition...
And we found the food supply chain is massively broken, it produces a lot of waste, it’s a major driver for climate change, it’s intransparent, it puts farmers and food producers under existential price pressure, and massively reduces the world’s biodiversity.
So we were looking for a weak spot in the supply chain. We found that how restaurants order their ingredients is a flawed process, for both the restaurant and the supplier.
We decided to build a software that would make this process better for both parties - and digitize the whole supply chain starting from there.
For us as entrepreneurs, as builders, we believe that we can build an extraordinarily successful company which at its core combines economic success and success for the environment and society, in direct correlation.

Reducing food waste on a global scale is no small task – we are stronger in numbers and believe that working with local charities, associations and networks is essential to achieve our goal.
Choco's namesake is the the Chocó district of Colombia - one of the most biodiverse and rich ecosystems on our planet. It's places like Chocó that we are fighting to preserve.
